Magazine Presentation

This is a my magazine presentation. I felt it went ok, but it could of been better. I hadn't, at this point, completed my magazine mock up's so I couldn't show my classmates and my teacher what my final magazine could of been looked like.

Overall, I thought my presentation went well though. If the work had been up to date at the time, it could've been better.

Final Title

My initial idea’s for my magazine title was:
  • Confused
  • Crushed
  • Timed Out
  • Rock-A-Fella
In my opinion, ‘Crushed’ is the best one. I think this because it can have many meanings as long as some effects to go with it. For example, the title could be crushed as if a rock had been crushed. I think this would also set the tone for my magazine, without actually saying it.
The effect of the title being edited has been used in the Rock magazine, Kerrang. This makes the magazine stand out and give the reader an impression of the magazine without reading it, this is a powerful and easy trick to get readers reading there magazine.
I also think that the title i’ve selected has the biggest Target Audience appeal. The masthead is one of the main things that stands out on the front cover, adding to the picture  and the theme to the magazine.

5 Best Shots + Brief Description

The reason I like this photo is because, it keeps
within the 3 colour palette. It's a very simplistic
picture, but it can have many meanings depending
on the way you look at it. I see it as the iPod being
the gateway to music, and that's what the younger
generation tend to do, listen to a lot of music.

This picture portray's a fashionable dressed
teenager as not really caring. This can be
very stereotypical. Although his middle
finger is up, he's also sitting on the chair
the wrong way round, reinforcing the
not caring theme.

In this picture, the model looks like he's
gazing into the distance, like looking at
the future. This style of imagery could
be used for showing a single artist
starting of their career.

This picture has an indie feel about it
with the large container in the background
and the style of clothes he's wearing.
The fact he's swearing at the camera
whilst looking in the other direction
symbolises that he doesn't really care
and he feels above the camera.

This picture, the model looks like he's
hiding something with the flap of his
coat above his mouth and a 'cheeky'
grin peering through. But still, I feel that
the indie theme is still kept here.

Color Palette's

Here I have chosen 5 sets of 3 possible color palette’s. The color’s i’ve chosen all relate, in one way that only one of the color’s stand out to catch the readers attention, in another they represent Rock music the best. This set’s the theme for the magazine, instantaneously telling the reader the Genre.
Within all the different color palette’s i’ve chosen, they all contain Black. Upon researching color palette’s I found this color to be very popular, especially for text.
The reason for my choosing Black and White in the majoring of my palette’s because if I were to write the text in Black on a White background, or vice versa, the text stands out in an instant. This will help the magazine catch the readers eye, this is also a very common theme in most magazine’s.
The colors that i’ve chosen should also appeal to my Target Audience as it in keeps with the theme of Rock.
